Martin Brostoff
I am Head of Legal for Boparan Private Office, a business involved in the property food and restaurant sectors. I have been a qualified solicitor for over 25 years working largely in industry, both in the UK and in Shanghai, China. We have raised our 4 children in the Midlands and as Chair of BJCC I aim to work with the other Trustees to ensure that BJCC meets the needs of the whole community for years to come.
Lynne Myers
I have been a Trustee for BJCC for a number of years. I regularly volunteer at events and on trips and enjoy spending time with both employees and community members. I take my role as pastoral lead seriously and regularly connect with employees to ensure open communication.
Erica Barnett
Erica has been a trustee on several other charities including Women's Aid and a governor of King David School as well as being accountable to a Board of Directors during her work as Chief Executive of a mental health charity and as a manager and then area manager for Citizens Advice. Currently she is working part-time in a judicial position.
She has good knowledge of Charity Commission legislation and of the organisational structures and governance required by charities.
She has experience of staff management, strategic planning and managing change. She has good communication and interpersonal skills and can work as part of a team as well as offering leadership skills.
Lesley Fifer
Born in Cape Town, South Africa 17/07/1958.
Lesley trained as a nurse at Groote Schuur Hospital, then lived in London for 3 years before making Aliyah. After 6 years in Tel Aviv, she met her (British) husband and moved to Birmingham. She has a son aged 32 who lives in Jerusalem and a daughter, 30, living in Birmingham.
She has lived and nursed in Birmingham for over 35 years. She retired in December 2022 and joined the BJCC trustees in March 2023. She enjoys travelling, reading, yoga, learning British Sigh Language and spending time with her family.
Linda Bushell
I have lived in Birmingham for over 45 years, raising my family here, where they all remain with their own families.
I am a retired teacher and am a trustee for both the Sayers and Hopkins Charities. This experience will be beneficial to my work as a Trustee for BJCC. I hope that during my tenure with BJCC that I can contribute positively to the hard-working diligent team.
David Benson
I have been involved for many years with several charities. I want to actively help BJCC continue their invaluable work and assist them to expand the support they give. I particularly enjoy taking part in the outings and also visit isolated members of the community, providing company and any assistance they need.
