Luncheon Club

The luncheon club is held on Tuesday and Wednesday throughout the year except during major Jewish festivals and national holidays.

It is open to everyone in the Community and gives the opportunity to renew old acquaintances, make new friends or just an excuse to get out of the house and speak to someone. The club is open from 10.30am when coffee and tea are served.

There are crosswords, puzzles, board games and the day’s papers to fill the time if you want to exercise the mind as well as card schools.

Computers provide access to the internet before lunch.

Lunch is served at 12.30pm and consists of a three course meal; every month there will be a theme day when lunch may have a French, Italian or Chinese theme or when it celebrates an event like the Wimbledon Championships, US Independence Day or Halloween. Fancy dress on these days is encouraged!

The Kosher Carvery is a particular favourite!

After lunch there could be a short talk on any topics for example the ‘Canals of Birmingham’ or ‘The experiences of a Wing Walker by Tom Lackey, a cookery demonstration, a musical sing along or Reminiscent Bingo. There is something of interest for everyone in the programme. The club finishes at 2.30pm.

Transport to the club is available from the central areas of Birmingham so there is no excuse not to join us as you will be made very welcome.

Coach trips to different local amenities such as Aston Hall or the Safari Park or further afield to the Holocaust Museum in Nottingham are part of the activities and are open to all.
