Your day, as full as you want it to be

Our own activities coordinator runs a full programme of activities that are tailored to take into account residents’ likes and dislikes and their medical condition. What a resident does is their decision- they can join in or just sit and watch!

From an early morning read of the days’ papers to later reminiscing about the past, there is plenty to do.

From board games to quizzes, art classes to armchair exercises, card playing to talks, there is always something going on that a resident may find of interest. The sing-a-long of old tunes is a particular favourite and gets the feet tapping.

If reading is a pleasure, our library is well stocked and is supplemented by regular visits of the local mobile library which also has audio books.

Our cinema shows old favourites twice a week.

Our weekly shopping trolley has all the extras you might need but you can also join the bus that takes the residents of Silverstone Court on their regular shopping excursion.

Outings to local gardens centres are a favourite, a drive into the local countryside gives a change of scenery or a trip to a pantomime recaptures our youth. Coach trips to the local Safari Park, Steam Railway and Stately Homes will bring back memories.

Themed meal times are a regular feature  with events such as Halloween, American Independence Day and Bastille day celebrated with the Dining Room decorated and the menu reflecting the event.

Next door is the Aubrey and Betty Lynes centre which has a luncheon club twice a week, a monthly film show and the café ‘4 Joy’ all of which are open to our residents.

You are never too old to learn about the Internet so visit our Internet Café where you could trace your family tree
